Getting Started
All new customers will be asked to fill in a credit application form giving ATM enough information to evaluate credit and open an account. The Financial Services Manager or the Finance Director may exercise their discretion depending on the size of the organization and the urgency of the request. It is standard practice to conduct a credit search if a customer is not ordinarily known as a major organisation, i.e. a household name.
The reason for using discretion is:
- To avoid unnecessary costs of credit checking due to the size of the organisation.
- To ensure that we do not unnecessarily hinder the sales process.
In setting up a credit limit for new customers guidance by the credit agency is the initial basis for the credit limit. For existing customers the initial credit limits are reviewed periodically depending on the level of trade and payment history, this will be backed up by credit checks.
It is not possible to obtain credit checks for sole traders or partnerships. In this instance ATM can offer alternative payment terms, though please note that we do not accept credit card payments.
